10 Health Non-Negotiables

As we often hear, health is wealth. Without our well-being and physical wellbeing, it’s difficult to enjoy life to its fullest. This is why it’s essential to have some non-negotiables that help us stay healthy in body and mind.

Below are 10 health non-negotiables that everyone should make part of their everyday routines:

  1. Hydration – Drinking enough water is essential for our overall health and well-being. Water helps to flush out toxins, keeps our skin hydrated and also helps to regulate body temperature. Aim to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day; even more if you’re active or live in a hot climate.

  1. Toxic-free Fragrances – Many fragrances on the market contain toxic chemicals that can be absorbed through our skin, leading to allergies, asthma, headaches, sleep disturbances, and other health issues. When possible opt for chemical-free fragrance options such as natural essential oils that are gentle on the skin and won’t cause any adverse reactions.

  1. Sunlight – Natural sunlight is an important source of vitamin D which helps us to absorb calcium and phosphorus from food which helps keep our bones healthy and strong. Sunlight also aids in reducing stress levels as it has been shown to boost endorphin production in the body which makes us feel happier and calmer. Expose yourself to 10 -15 minutes of sunlight each day (protecting your skin with sunscreen) for optimum benefits.

  1. Vegetables – Eating a variety of vegetables is an important part of maintaining good health as they are packed with nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fiber that help keep various systems within the body functioning properly. Aim for five servings of fruits and veggies each day for maximum benefit.

  1. Things You’re Passionate About – Not only does being passionate about something give your life purpose but it also increases your wellbeing by giving you something positive to focus on rather than things that bring you down or make you anxious or stressed out. So find activities or hobbies that spark joy within you and go do them regularly.

  1. Positive People – Spending time with people who have a positive outlook on life can have a very beneficial effect on our mental health by helping us stay optimistic when times are tough; surrounding yourself with positive people can give you hope when everything else might seem lost.

  1. Self Care – Taking care of yourself should be at the top of your list when it comes to non-negotiables for your health; self care involves activities such as getting enough sleep, eating well balanced meals, exercising regularly and taking breaks from work or stressful situations when needed so don’t forget to nurture yourself too.

  1. Protein – A vital nutrient that provides energy for the body as well aiding in muscle growth; protein can be found in food sources such as eggs, fish, poultry etc., so aim to include some form of protein in each meal throughout the day for proper muscle development and maintenance.

  1. Exercise – Regular physical activity not only helps maintain a healthy weight but it also strengthens joints & muscles while improving circulation & cardiovascular endurance; aim for 30 minutes per day (at least 3 times per week) doing moderate intensity activities like walking or jogging for optimum benefits.

10 Sleep – Getting enough restorative sleep not only improves moods but it also helps repair muscles after exercise & keeps hormones balanced which is key for maintaining good overall health; aim to get 7 – 8 hours per night on average & stick to regular bedtime routines (no late night Netflix binges!)
